Her training included specialization in the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder at the TEACCH Center, and through the University of Washington Autism Program, as well as\u00a0 extensive training in the comprehensive assessment of children and teens with a range of learning, cognitive, attention and executive, social\/emotional and behavioral difficulties. She also received additional specialized training in pediatric neuropsychology, and has nearly 20 years experience with assessment of ADHD, Dyslexia, Mood and Anxiety issues, and Learning Disorders, in addition to Autism Spectrum Disorder.\u00a0 Additionally, Dr. Werner is certified in the Early Start Denver Model, a comprehensive behavioral early intervention approach for children with autism.\u00a0 She is currently a clinical psychologist in the Department of Developmental Pediatrics at Children\u2019s Hospital Colorado, where she is part of a multidisciplinary assessment team for children ages 1-18.\u00a0 She has an active role in both research and training in this setting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Emily Werner received her Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington, and completed her child-clinical predoctoral internship at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
